The first time many people even hear about radon outside of science class is then they are buying or selling a home in an area (like Northern Virginia especially) where it is present in certain properties. Here, it is a standard part of the sales contract and its presence is something that can even give buyers a way to void the contract altogether. This makes it very important for buyers and sellers alike to understand radon and what it can mean for their transaction.
