OREGON COAST

• Seagals, a home furnishings store, opened in Seal Rock. News-Times, 5/8/2013
• OC Eye Care Clinic opened in Newport. News-Times, 5/8/2013
• My Concierge, A Family Affair opened in Newport. The three-person firm provides personal and business assistance to clients. News-Times, 5/1/2013

SOUTHERN OREGON

• Taylor’s Sausage in Cave Junction will add a second shift and plans to hire about 30 workers over the next several months. Grants Pass Daily Courier, 5/6/2013
• Cowboy’s Chillin’ & Grillin’, a barbecue restaurant, opened in Sutherlin. The News-Review, 5/6/2013
• Jerome Prairie Elementary School in Murphy will close by next fall. The teachers and students will move to Madrona Elementary School. Two teaching positions will be eliminated with the move. KDRV, 4/16/2013

CENTRAL OREGON / COLUMBIA GORGE

• Camp 1805, a distillery, is under construction at the Port of Hood River’s Waterfront Business Park. Hood River News, 5/4/2013
• “That Good” Photography opened in The Dalles. The Dalles Chronicle, 5/1/2013
• Walmart in Bend underwent a renovation and expansion and added 80 workers. Cascade Business News, 4/30/2013
• Volcano Veggies, a grower of organic produce and fish, will open a production facility in Bend. The Bulletin, 4/23/2013
• Quail Park Memory Care Residences in Klamath Falls, a facility for people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, will begin construction in July on a new building that will have 28 assisted living units. Herald and News, 4/14/2013

EASTERN OREGON

• Several Baker City businesses are in expansion mode. Behlen Manufacturing, which makes livestock equipment, hired 17 employees since the start of 2013 and will hire three more. Tasty Bake, which makes pizza crusts, hired 15 workers in 2012 and expects to add five or six more. Natural Structures added five employees this spring. Baker City Herald, 4/24/2013

PORTLAND AND SURROUNDING AREAS

• Walmart will open a 150,000-square-foot store in Sherwood in July 2014. It will employ about 250 people. The Oregonian, 5/7/2013
• Church, a restaurant and bar offering Southern fare such as hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, okra chips, and pork cracklins, opened in northeast Portland. Neighborhood Notes, 5/7/2013
• Nothing Bundt Cakes opened a store in Tualatin. It offers Bundt cakes and baking ware. The Oregonian, 5/6/2013
• Three Square Grill in southwest Portland will close. The Oregonian, 5/6/2013
• Legacy Medical Group – Cornell opened a clinic complex in Beaverton. It employs 29 people. Beaverton Valley Times, 5/2/2013
• Pacific Pie Co., an Australian-style savory pie shop, will open a location in northwest Portland. The Oregonian, 5/1/2013
• Mark’s Gold Crown Hallmark, a greeting card and gift retailer, will open at the Westfield Vancouver mall. The Oregonian, 4/30/2013
• Francesca’s Collection, a women’s clothing, accessories, and gifts boutique, will open at the Westfield Vancouver mall. The Oregonian, 4/30/2013
• When the Shoe Fits will open in Beaverton in June. It will offer footwear for men and women. Portland Business Journal, 4/15/2013
