• Muggly’s bowling alley will open in Toledo next month. News-Times, 5/1/2013
• Xerox Corp. will close its Coos Bay and North Bend call centers in July, laying off about 300 people. The World, 5/1/2013
• In the Boudoir, a home furnishing store, opened in Astoria. The Daily Astorian, 4/25/2013

• PDQ Oil Change, which stands for “Pretty Darn Quick,” an oil change and automotive repair shop, opened in Grants Pass. Grants Pass Daily Courier, 4/21/2013

• Columbia Forest Products, a wood product manufacturer in Klamath Falls, plans to hire 20 people. Herald and News, 4/29/2013

• Natural Grocers, a Colorado-based health food chain, will open a store in Bend by late August. The Bulletin, 4/23/2013
• Heart ‘N Home, a hospice care provider, opened an office in Bend. Cascade Business News, 4/18/2013
• Advanced Energy Industries will consolidate its Bend solar-inverter manufacturing with its operations in Fort Collins, Colo., where the company is based. As of last year, it employed about 115 people in Bend. The Bulletin, 4/11/2013

• Valley View Assisted Living Facility, a senior care facility in John Day, will add a 10-bed memory care unit. It will hire additional medication aides, caregivers, and other support staff. Blue Mountain Eagle, 4/17/2013
• Due to a reduction in state funding, the North Powder School District cut three and one-half classified staff positions in late March and plans to cut a full-time teaching position. The Observer, 4/5/2013

PORTLAND AND SURROUNDING AREAS• Three clothing stores, Maurices, Romy, and rue21, will open at the Westfield Vancouver mall. The Oregonian, 4/30/2013
• AEG Facilities, the company that managed the Rose Garden and Memorial Coliseum in Portland, will lay off 900 workers next month. Employees will have the opportunity to reapply for jobs under the new food service provider for the facilities, Levy Restaurants of Chicago. The Oregonian, 4/29/2013
• Hitachi High Technologies America Inc. in Hillsboro will add 30 engineers. The Oregonian, 4/25/2013
• Addy’s Sandwich Bar and Brunch Box, former food carts, opened restaurants in downtown Portland. The Oregonian, 4/22/2013

• The Elephant’s Trunk Toy Co. at Salem Center will close. Statesman Journal, 4/17/2013
• Electrical Geodesics, a Eugene-based tech company that makes and sells encephalography technology, has gone public on the London Stock Exchange. It employs 80 people in Eugene and plans to hire 40 more in the next year or two. About a dozen of those hires will be based in Eugene. The Register-Guard, 4/9/2013
